The Lecture Centre

Martin Pegler has been interested in the history of firearms all his life and is a well-established military author. For 17 years he was the Senior Curator of Firearms at the Royal Armouries Museum, specialising in military firearms, and he is now recognised as a world authority on the history and development of military sniping.

He has always been a popular speaker at Western Front Association branches over the years and has lectured widely in Britain and the USA and has appeared on many television programme for the mainstream British channels, plus Discovery's History channel. His interest in WW1 goes back to his childhood although he is unable to explain why it should have fascinated him at such an early age.

The venue for lectures will eventually be the new Lecture Centre at Orchard Farm, located on the ground floor of the Stables, which will be equipped with toilets and have easy access for wheelchair users. The lectures last for approximately one hour and refreshments are available. Visitors are encouraged to see and handle the weapons relevant to the lecture.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the work on the Lecture Centre is currently
delayed. However, we are still able to offer Martin's services as an
excellent speaker at alternative venues in the region. Please do contact us
for more details and venues.

Martin is, of course, willing and able to travel to the U.K. to deliver
bespoke lectures and we would be happy to discuss your requirements.
